Volunteer Opportunities

Opportunities to get involved in a service environment abound in many fields of interests.  Volunteers are recognized at an annual dinner as the memories of the past year are recounted.  Several volunteer committees developed by Resident Council focus on the following areas: library, birthdays, Sunday tea, Vespers and Sunshine (contacting residents who are ill or out of the building).  A Handcraft group meets weekly to knit and crochet for the less fortunate in Seattle .  Those who enjoy gardening or watering or sweeping are more than welcome to take part in caring for the grounds. (garden photos)  New community group ideas are always welcomed.

Vespers

An on-site worship service meets every Sunday evening.  Guest ministers from varying Seattle area churches come to lead informal worship and singing.  A Northaven prayer chain has also been set up by a volunteer resident to keep in touch and build community.
